What is a Consecration Celebration?
Each week, one member of the John Paul II Newman Family hosts the pilgrims images (shown above) in their house, dorm, or apartment. During the time in which they have the images, they pray the Rosary daily, offer other sacrifices, go to Mass, and offer acts of love and service for their friends and family. In general, it is an opportunity to invite Jesus and Mary into our hearts, homes, and lives in a deeper way.
On one of the days of that week they have the images, the host has a Consecration Celebration at his/her home, dorm, or apartment. Everyone is invited and welcome to join in this Celebration. During the Consecration Celebration, the host has an activity, possibly some snacks, and at the end, everyone present prays the Rosary and consecrates themselves to Jesus through Mary.
If you have any questions, or if you would like to host the images for a week, please contact Molly McClowry (mjmcclowry33@gmail.com) or Ali Lundstrum (amlunds@ilstu.edu).
