Serving at mass is a great way to get involved & meet new people! As a Newman Center students are the backbone of our liturgies. Students are able to altar serve, lector, sacristan & usher. There are openings for Sunday masses, as well as weekday masses!

Lectors
The lectors help with daily & Sunday masses be reading the mass readings! There are Sunday and weekday openings! This is a low time commitment role and masses readings are on a established schedule so you can take a look at them in advance too! Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion (EMHCs) The EMHCs distribute the Body of Christ during Holy Communion. EMHCs are part of Sunday masses, as well as Monday, Wednesday & Friday daily masses! Altar Servers The Altar Servers serve at the altar during Mass by assisting in the priest with some of his duties. Alter servers are present during Sunday and weekday masses, as well as weekday holy hours. Only gentlemen can serve in this role, but it's a great way to be public witness of the faith! Sacristans Sacristans help set-up and clean-up after masses and holy hours. They assist will Sunday & daily masses, as well as daily holy hours. This is a great behind-the-scenes role! Ushers Ushers greet people before mass, help with collection baskets & are around after Sunday masses to wish people a good week & assist with passing out any flyers! This is a easy way to join liturgical ministries & one of the easiest roles! |
