Dear Friends,

Welcome to the St. John Paul II Catholic Newman Center. We hope that this Newman Center will be a Home for many hearts to know the depth of God's love and a School to form authentic witnesses to love, truth and life.

We hope to introduce you to the best friend you will ever have, Jesus!  And if you already know Jesus, we hope you grow into a closer relationship with Him.  We hope you will come to learn how deeply He loves you and wants to help you live a life that is truly fulfilling.  We hope you will come to seek out, learn and follow the very special plan God has for YOUR LIFE! We hope to introduce you to His Family: the Trinity, His Mother - Mary, His stepfather - St. Joseph, His Bride - the Church, His special brothers and sisters - the saints, His other creatures - the good angels.  And we pray that as you grow that you will find great joy in sharing your gifts and talents to bring to many who do not yet know ---God’s love for them.

We would also like to bring you into contact with His many gifts, such as the sacraments.  More specifically, we hope you will take advantage of receiving frequently, the Sacrament of Holy Communion (the Eucharist), and the Sacrament of Reconciliation.  Why? Because these and the other sacraments give us Jesus' supernatural, supersonic strength.  This wonderful gift called "grace," helps us to do that which we do not have the power to do with our own human strength. It especially gives us the power to love God with our whole heart, mind, soul and strength and to love others, as Jesus loves us!

Know also that you are not alone. First there is an entire community waiting to meet you, and in your absence, we are not complete as the Family of Jesus. And more powerfully- second, we have the gift of having a small and intimate adoration chapel- The Witnesses to Love Chapel:“We have come to know and to believe in the love God has for us” (1 Jn. 4, 16). Jesus Himself is waiting for you in the Chapel, and has been waiting for you to open your heart to His love, from all eternity. We challenge you to “Come & see.”

Please take a look at this website to see where the Lord may be calling you to get plugged in. Do not be afraid of Christ, He takes nothing away from you and is only here to give you a life beyond what you can imagine.

United in our desire to live the fullness of what we were created for, a life in Christ,

Sr. Silvia Maria of the Merciful Love of God, SCTJM

Director, St. John Paul II Catholic Newman Center
