World Youth Day 2011 - What We did and Where We Went

Picture

On August 9th, 2011, a group of 29 (students, Sisters, and Father) departed on a pilgrimage of a lifetime. After spending 5 days in Lourdes, France with Our Lady, we traveled on to Madrid to join 2 million other Catholic youth from all around the world to celebrate World Youth Day 2011. We were joined by our Holy Father Pope Benedict VXI, cardinals, bishops, priests, and religious from all around the world. Our week in Madrid concluded with an all night Vigil and Mass led by our Holy Father himself. After our time in Madrid, we continued on to Barcelona, Toulouse, and Paris before returning home.

Upon our return, we are so grateful for all that the Lord did in us and through us. The pilgrimage changed our lives and made us more authentic and loving witnesses of Jesus Christ in the world. We pray that it will allow us to serve Him and all his people in need in a more fruitful and loving way.

listen to our song--Planted

As part of the World Youth Day festivities, the organizers began an international song competition open to all WYD participants. Inspired by the Holy Spirit and rooted in prayer, we gathered to compose a song for the contest.  The Lord helped us along, and within 10 days we had written, composed and recorded our song! We ended 15th in the world - out of 139 songs!
