While many things have changed in recent years, with the completion of our major renovation project last year and the addition of a team of FOCUS missionaries, the mission has stayed the same--serving the students Illinois State University, Illinois Wesleyan University & Heartland Community College!

What We Do!The Newman Centers offer a faith-filled place of community for students. There are weekly events such as RCIA classes, praise & worship holy hours (Source & Summit), weekly catechesis (Duc in Altum) and social events. There is a retreat every semester called Koinonia.
There are also many Bible studies that are led by students. These students work closely with staff and FOCUS missionaries to lead Bible studies and these studies are a place where many build friendships and dive into scripture with others! There are also two mass times on Sundays, as well as mass, confession & adoration on weekdays. Interested in supporting our mission? |
What's New at Newman! In recent years there has been many exciting changes at the Newman Center. A renovation project was started last Summer that completely renovated the back portion of the building and brought some updates and changes to the front as well. The back of the space now includes a study room, commercial kitchen and many modern updates. For more info on this project check out Renovation Project
During the 2023-2024 the Center also welcomed a team of FOCUS missionaries (See Staff). These amazing & vibrant young adults are able to create Bible studies and work closely with students building friendships and supporting students through discipleship. In October of 2023, we celebrated the completion of this renovation project with Bishop Tylka, for more on this check out JPII Fest- Renovation Celebration We are excited to have recently welcomed a pair of missionaries from weDignify, a pro-life group that has its roots at UIUC. |
